Makeup Essentials You Need
Let’s start back at the basics. Today’s blog post is all about the makeup essentials you need in your life. From beginning to end, what you need to have in your makeup. You may not want or need all of these but they are what helped me to find my love of makeup and begin my journey into beauty. If you are just starting out with makeup or need a push on what to have in your kit as a starter product, keep reading to find out my picks for what I think are the makeup essentials you need!
Palettes are a must

Palettes are my favourite thing about makeup. Every brand that sells them has so many different ones. From colourful to neutral palettes, they explode with colour and the possibilities are endless with them. If you’re starting out with makeup, a good balance is to have both a colourful and neutral palette in your collection, this way you can practise with all colour while still achieving a daily look. The first palette above is the Morphe 35M Boss Mood palette which is currently on offer for £16 on the Morphe website. Both the mattes and shimmers are pigmented and stunning. The palette is one of my favourite purchases.
Next to it is my favourite drug store neutral palette. It is the Revolution Reloaded Velvet Rose palette and although it is on the cheaper side (£5 to be exact), it is still a beautiful and pigmented palette. Revolution is one of my favourite brands for cheap but pigmented eyeshadow palettes. Both of these palettes are essentials you need in your collection.
Foundation is a key makeup essential

Foundation is one of the key things of any makeup lover’s kit, a good foundation can sometimes make or break a look. I love finding new foundations, trying them out and seeing which work best with my skin. I love the MUA Pro/Base foundation. It is a long-wear matte finish foundation and it is medium coverage. I normally mix my foundations to get my colour right but this is one of my favourite foundations I have tried. It doesn’t dry my skin out and it makes my face look flawless even after I’ve popped powder over the top of it. Foundation is always tricky to shade match but if you already have a foundation that matches you, try and colour match where you are buying it. Look at the undertones and go from there.
Blush is now a necessity

Yes, you read that right, blush is now a necessity in our makeup bags! I rarely ever wore blush because it never really suited me because of the brightness of some of the colours but when I got this Natural Collection blush, I fell in love. It has become a part of my daily makeup routine! This one is only £1.99 but the pigment is amazing for the price!
Highlight to the heavens

Highlighter is one of my favourite things to buy. Pigmentation is key for highlighters, you wanna get those high points right with a sparkle. This quad highlighter palette is a staple in my makeup collection. It is the Technic Mega Glow highlighter. I not only use this for highlighter but for those inner eye moments that shimmer on its own doesn’t shine the way I want it to! There are four shades in the palette and for £4, its pigmentation is insane! I love the way I can build the highlight up the way I want to depending on how I feel.
Give your lashes the best

I love mascara. It is a beautiful product that helps elevate and makes your lashes long and beautiful. I have so many mascaras in my collection but the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara has been one of my favourites for years. It hasn’t failed to make my lashes long and beautiful. The mascara has collaged infused into the product to help strengthen your lashes. Mascara is a must-have in your makeup collection no matter what. Give your lashes what they need!
Skincare is still important

Skincare is still important in your makeup routine, cleansing your skin is a no.1 priority whether you use makeup or not. I am loving this 5% Glycolic Tonic from Superdrug. It helps awaken my skin and brighten it. You can also get it in two sizes. It’s so important to take of our skin so I use this every morning and night to cleanse my skin of any dirt or impurities that are on my skin.
There are my makeup essentials that you need in your makeup collection, what are you ride or die products in your collection?
